At Oasis Art + Play Studio, we currently do not offer any classes — art or play-based — for children under the age of 2.
This is a thoughtful decision based on child development research and our experience working with young children. Children below 2 years are still developing foundational skills such as:
Self-regulation and attention span
(Research shows sustained attention typically begins to emerge closer to age 2.)Fine and gross motor control
(Activities like grasping art tools or participating in group play require coordination that develops significantly after 18–24 months.)Separation readiness and social awareness
(Most children under 2 are still forming strong attachment bonds and are not yet comfortable in structured group environments.)
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics and studies in early childhood education, engaging meaningfully in structured art or play programs requires a certain level of motor, emotional, and social maturity — typically reached around 24 months.
At Oasis, we believe in meeting children where they are developmentally. This ensures that once they join, they can fully benefit from the experience, feel secure, and participate joyfully.
We would love to welcome your child once they turn 2 and are ready for the nurturing, creative experiences we offer!
